  금전적인 빚을 청산하다는 표현은 신문이나 인터넷에서 쉽게 찾아 볼수 있는 표현이다. 꼭 알아두시길 바란다. 간단하게 빚을 갚는 행위는 '청산'이라고 하는데 「Pay off」라는 단어이다. 이때 '빚'이라는 명사 debt을 붙여 「pay off its debt」이 되어 「빚을 갚다(청산하다)」라는 의미로 사용한다.
