<오늘의 영어 회화 표현> It is on the tip of my tongue. 정말 기억이 날듯 말듯해...   무엇인가 기억 날듯 말듯하면서 말 그대로 단어가 혀 끝에서 맴도는 경우에 쓰는 표현입니다. 대체적으로 이런 경우에는 기억이 나지 않는 경우가 많아서 대화 상대방에게 오히려 많은 질문을 쏟아냅니다. 우리나에서는 "목구멍까지 넘어왔는데..."라는 표현을 쓰죠. # 회화예문 - John: It has been almost 10 year since we met in elementary school. - Richard: Yeah, you are right. <오늘의 영어 회화 표현> I am on a tight budget, myself. 내 (경제적) 사정도 빡빡해.   우리나라 일상생활에서 타이트(tight) 하다는 말을 많이 씁니다. 옷을 입을 때는 "(몸에) 꼭 맞다"라는 의미로 쓰이지만 오히려 맞는 것 같으면서도 작은 것 같기도해서 좀 더 큰 옷을 입을 때 사용합니다. 시간을 표현 할때도 타이트(tight) 하다고 하면 "스케쥴이 타이트하다." 역시나 소요되는 시간에 딱 맞춰 진행한다는 의미인데, 오히려 어떤 상황이 발생해서 조금 늦어지는 경우에는 타이트한 시간을 초과해서 좀 난처한 상황에 맞닥들일 수 있습니다.   예산에서 Tight도 비슷합니다. 내 계획에 딱 맞춰서 예산을 편성해 놨기 때문에 추가 비용이 발생하는 경우에는 예산이 초과되어 대응할 수 없을 때 쓰는 표현입니다. 사실 친구가 돈을 빌려달라고 할 때 자기의 빠듯하고 딱한 예산 사정을 얘기하면서 정중히 거절 할 때 쓰면 되는 표현입니다. on a budget이 쓸 돈이 많지 않다는 의미인데 거기에 타이트(tight)가 더해지면서 더더욱 돈이 없다는 의미가 됩니다. # 회화예문 - John: I have something tell you Richard, could you do me a favor?
